Snow! Why not... Jan 2025

About me

Nick
Parkin

I've always been interested in First Aid as my grandparents on both sides were nurses during the war and by the age of 10 I'd learnt from them the name of every bone in the human body. By the age of 12 my mum was convinced I was determined to break every one of them with just the use of my bike! My adventures in the outdoors have grown with the years. I have visited over 27 countries around the world and have swam, walked, run, scrambled, climbed and mountaineered in most of them. Whatever the activity is, if it’s outdoors, I'll do it.

I have had the privilege of serving more than a decade and a half with Mountain Rescue where I was a medic and section leader, learning first aid and casualty care from two of the Peak District's finest doctors and team members.

I've been lucky enough to work with rescue teams in the UK and around the world, gaining a wealth of experience in navigation and survival, in first aid and casualty care and in emergency medical response.

In 2023 I took my teaching qualification. Now it's time to share what I've learned over the years, so come and join me on a course at Parkin Medical. I'm sure we can make learning First Aid just as much fun as what I’ve had over the last 56 years.
